After having known the programme by Gary Rhodes “Rhodes across India” it is no surprise to me to discover that he also delves into Chinese culture and cuisine in his programme”Rhodes across China” emited on UKTV Food.

As in the programme about Indian cuisine it is essential for Gary to touch the real China.

The Chinese journey commences in Beijing where travellers can take the iconic sights of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Next up is the chance to get within touching distance from the Great Wall, then feast on traditional Peking Duck as the sun goes down.
A ‘Terracotta Warrior’ day trip is sure to impress history buffs. For those looking for more zen there is the chance to join the locals in the ancient art of Tai Chi. The trip then travels onto Suzhou to explore the area on bike, with a relaxing evening of traditional opera and theatre amongst the trees and waterfalls.
After a relaxing time in the Chinese countryside travellers hit Shanghai and absorb the art exhibits whilst hitting the shops in Yuyuan Bazaar.
After exploring Southern China, travellers can head to Yangshuo for a five-day cookery school – learn about traditional Chinese cuisine, and then visit local food markets, gaining skills which are sure to impress friends when back in the UK.

As for the accommodation in China one has to think it over carefully. Best option is to seek accommodation through the Internet firstly, and then make few callas and sent e-mails. Most safe seems to be the option of hiring an apartment.
