Kiotari: a new tourist resort

As Rhodes and nearly all of its most popular tourist resorts have been already described let me to acquaint you with a new one, only now developing southwards from Lindos, along a beach.

There are different types of tourist resorts in Rhodes: those that have always been popular among tourists, since historical times. Those that grew up from fishing villages, and there are plenty of them, build at such a speed that it can really take your breath away even now. Such places more often than not do not beckon tourists with original stylish architecture, nor with that typical atmosphere of a lazy, southern resort.

Kiotari is yet another example. This place has been changing dramatically in previous years. Once a small fishing village in 2008 it  is now an astonishingly fast developing tourist resort. Plan was to build hotels  in a typical Greek style so that they would melt with the island’s architecture and restore it’s once cosy atmosphere damaged by commercial resorts not paying attention to aesthetical values. All the new hotels are be modern, beautifully decorated and furnished with taste. Equipped with every possible facility they also offer somethig for every pocket.

Though the village is far away from the capital of the island (about 60 km) as well away from Lindos ( 18 km) there is a good transport connection between the town and the rest of the island. Kiotari boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes, also the widest one (in some places over 40m !)

Rhodes: Continuing a dream

So the dreamt grand hotel that is imprinted in the mind of a tourist can truly exist. One the best ones is only a 15-minute walk away from the old town of the Town of Rhodes. Sounds like a perfect occassion, plus it is located just in the middle of a park, or rather a neatly manicured garden.

Holidays there can truly be the best of your life. People seeking sport activity won’t be disappointed as they will find so many different sports to choose from : fitness centre offers fully equipped gym as well as highly qualified staff, there are tenis courts that can be hired, and also tennis instructors who will teach you how to play if you can’t. GRand Hotel has two pools: one that is outside and an idoor one as well. On cold days you can swim in the indoor one, while when the weather is good let sun fondle your skin. 3 km away there is a centre of more challenging water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing or diving, it is fully equipped and even laymen will have the chance to learn new things.

The village itself also provides tourists with innumerable chances to entertain. One of them may be a trip around local olive groves that are surrounding the village. Olive is undeniably a true part of the Greek culture. So to get to know how it is produced < and there is such a possibility in those groves> seems to be a good idea.
