Rhodes Island is situated in the archipelago of Dodekanese <a group of 12 large and 150 smaller islands scattered among the peaceful waters of The Aegean Sea>. Though they are closer to Turkey than to Greece they are all Greek. All the islands boast a whole lot of Byzantine churches and mediaeval castles.
