Pefkos, a popular tourist resort in Corfu, is situated not far away from Lindos < 4 kilometres away>, that is just in the middle of eastern coast. It is widely held that Lindos is the true touristic capital of the island. Rhodes in the north is only the administrative one.

Pefkos boasts a whole lot of different low-rise, concrete hotels, motels, sets of self-catering appartments and other places of possible accommodation. In close proximity to it there are innumerable pubs, restaurants, cafes and places of entertainment. There is a good transport connection with lindos and the rest of the island.

The beach in Pefkos is very attractive as it is sandy and very clean, with all needed facilities to make the time spent there more plesureable. In Greek pefko means pine- tree and, indeed, whole of the village is soaked with the scent of those trees coming from their resin warmed by the southern sun. Pine trees ring the village silently growing on the slopes of surrounding hills, overlooking the sleepy bay. Owing to the architecture < there are no buildings higher that three storeys> the unique quiet atmosphere of a lazy Greek village has been successfully retained.

Tourists may either find relaxation on the beach eiher seek attractions in entertainment centres or by sightseeing. Lindos situated in such a close proximity to Pefkos tempts one to see its Acropolis. Good connection with the rest of Rhodes is a reason enough to leave the luxurious appartments once in a while and go and see the rest of the island.
