Lindos is a town situated in Rhodes island. In the ancient times it belonged to hexapolis as well as five other polis: Halikarnas, Jalysos, Kamejos, Kos, Knidos. Irrespective of its Doric origin the language of Lindos was Ionic, this theory is backed up by certain manuscripts. During archeological works remains of a temple of Athene were dug out in Lindos. A chronicle of the temple was found as well. According to the tradition in the year 58 AD in a little bay near Lindos a vessel with St. Paul was anchoraged. Since this moment Christianity is the main religion of the islanders.

The beach in Lindos, Rhodes Island is perfectly sandy , with a stunning view of the acropolis that towers over whole town. The beach is located only few hundred meters from the centre of the town.Such a comfortable localisation of the beach, a wide range of accommodation, shopping and entertainment facilities are offered to tourists. There are innumerable taverns, several of them at the sea front, where you will find delicious food and fresh fish. The beach is equipped with all the facilities that any kind of sport activity would ever deman, The best is, without a shadow of a doubt, equipment for watersports. Apart from that there are highy- qualified lifeguards that look after tourists, who tend to forget to take into consideration their actual abilities.
